What is renewable energy?

Renewable energy by definition is also known as clean or green power, and is most basically explained as energy sources that mother nature will continually replace. These are sunlight, water, and wind.

We can't simply store sunlight or wind for example when we need to generate energy, so normally the energy is changed and stored into a different medium such as batteries for use later.

It is also possible to have enough electricity to where the power companies pay you to use your unused power. There are many people that live "Off the grid" so to speak by rationing their electricity needs and using a photovoltaic system to power their homes.
